Scott Bakula, the famous face behind the hit series Quantum Leap, will be the frontman for the new NCIS spin off, as special agent Pride in a two episode story arc. CCH Pounder has been chosen to be the medical examiner, and Zoe McLellan has been picked to play a special agent in Pride’s unit. Bakula’s character has been described by the network as a “unique man for a unique city, embodies New Orleans. He’s driven by the need to do what’s right and does it all with warmth, passion, strength and humor.”

Bakula has also been a few series, like HBO’s Looking. Just last year, he received an emmy nomination for his role in Behind The Candelabra, as well as having co starred on the TNT series Men Of A Certain Age. CCH Pounder was at one point in time a regular on the hit FX series The Shield, will be playing Dr. Wade, who has been described as being as “eccentric as she is smart. She’s worldly, intuitive and incredibly connected to louisiana.” Pounder was just recently seen in Sons Of Anarchy.

Zoe McLellan has had roles on Dirty Sexy Money and JAG, and she will be playing Brody, a special agent in the New Orleans office. This character has been described as a “midwestern transplant who comes to New Orleans looking for a fresh start and a safe haven to heal old wounds.” The New Orleans office will include one more agent, LaSalle. LaSalle is a local man and former deputy to the sheriff who has been “through some tough times”. The New Orleans office will handle cases from Florida to Texas. During the two episode story arc “

NCIS special agent Gibbs (Mark Harmon) will be in contact with Pride, a friend from their days in the earlier Naval Investigative Service, after the death of a mutual friend who also was an agent.” said by executive producer Gary Glasberg back during an interview done last month.

The episodes are expected to begin filming later this month and March, which should have them on the air sometime in the spring. Most of the filming will be taking place on the same set for NCIS in Los Angeles, with at least 4 to 5 days of shooting in New Orleans itself.
