The horror comedy series Scream Queens has released a few details surrounding the season 2 concept and the returning cast of characters.

The hilarious horror-comedy Scream Queens overjoyed it’s dedicated fanbase with the confirmation of a second season, and now we are even more ecstatic to have some details surrounding the upcoming season referred to as Scream Queens: Hospital. During a panel at PaleyFest, the cast and crew met to discuss their experiences on the show while giving us some fun new tidbits to salivate over. Brad Falchuk, one of the series creators’, was on hand to divulge most of the information, confirming that the returning cast of Scream Queens will consist of Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis, Abigail Breslin, Billie Lourd, Lea Michele, Keke Palmer, Glen Powell and Niecy Nash (along with three new charming male doctors.)

According to Falchuk, the second season will draw inspiration from the Halloween franchise with a hospital setting and has shifted it’s filming location to California (farewell to the eerie New Orleans locations!) Discussing the premise, the creator explains, “[Munsch]has moved on to great success” regarding her public acclaim, and adds, “She will take on the cases no one else will take and the conditions everyone says are incurable.” The former dean will have assistance from Zayday Williams (Palmer) who will also be training to become a doctor as Munsch’s right hand woman.

In the season 1 finale, the Chanels were committed to a mental institution but will be released on the terms of a mistrial, leading them to enlist in medical school (at the hospital Munsch now owns.) Hester’s role in season 2 is currently unknown, but Falchuk did suggest that she will have an essential connection, explaining, “In this hospital, there’s some funny business going as well.  There’s an aspect to this show that involves murder and a killer and in those ways Hester is going to be intimately involved.” Rounding out the given character descriptions, Denise is stated to still be a member of the FBI who will investigate the unusual medical facility.

Scream Queens season 2 doesn’t have an air date just yet, but with a few new exciting developments – we’ll have to patiently await the next cast additions and production details for the beloved horror-comedy series with a phenomenal cast and crew!
