The cast for the upcoming Scream MTV series was recently announced. The series is based on the smash hit horror film series. It was reported that actress Amy Forsyth was tapped to play the lead character, Audrey Jensen, who for undisclosed reasons is no longer attached to the series. Actress Bex Taylor-Claus (Arrow, The Killing) has been selected to take over as Audrey according to Entertainment Weekly, who's “an artsy loner who aspired to be a filmmaker.” A new role will be played by Bobby Campo (The Final Destination) as the young attractive English teacher Seth Branson who's “got an easy charm and is clearly one of the ‘cool’ teachers, who can go with it if a lesson plan gets a little off-track.” Connor Weil will play the role of Will Belmont, “an all-American high school basketball player who adores his girlfriend, Emma. (Willa Fitzgerald.)” Rounding out the cast is Witches Of East End star Joel Gretsch will appear in the series as Sheriff Clark Hudson, a “good guy and good Sheriff and father to Kieran (Amadeus Serafini).” The director of every Scream film, Wes Craven, will have involvement in the cable series as a producer and Jamie Travis will direct the pilot episode, which is expected to film sometime next week.
