The Merc with the Mouth is back, in all his R-rated guts and glory.

Deadpool may not be on our screens yet, but we are very excited for the upcoming R-rated feature.

And now we have a photo from the set to whet our appetites.

After a leaked test footage from a 2011 attempt to make Deadpool a reality went viral last year, the production gained momentum and is nearly on the silver screen. The clip became an instant internet sensation, and had people crying out for more antics from Wade Wilson, particularly after that botched attempt in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

I’m still not over that heartbreak.

But that pain has been eased by the news that the Merc with the Mouth will have an R-rated adventure, and there are set photos to make us hungry for more.

And even Reynolds has said that none of it would be possible if not for the person who leaked the test reel.

In a recent interview, Reynolds said he would kiss whomever released the footage:

“And not just a little kiss, but a full on the mouth, sloppy with tongue, for two straight minutes on live television.”

Reynolds has also noted that this version of Deadpool is more in line with the spirit of the character than the aforementioned travesty.

Producer Simon Kinberg said that the Deadpool movie is a “hard R [rating]”:

“It’s graphic. Nothing is taboo. You either commit to a truly outrageous boundary pushing kind of movie or you don’t.”

As there are currently no R-rated comic book movies out there from Marvel or DC, Deadpool is going to be in a league of its own.

Entertainment Weekly released a photo from set, and it is driving the world wild.

And rightly so--just look at it:

So, PopWrappers, excited about seeing the Merc with the Mouth onscreen? And aren’t you temped to claim you leaked the footage for that kiss?
