Fans of the cult online musical Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog have no fear! According to Captain Hammer (Nathan Fillion) himself, the idea of a sequel is still “absolutely possible”.
Dr. Horrible first emerged in 2008 in three different parts. It is about an aspiring super villain, Dr. Horrible (Neil Patrick Harris), with his own video blog that is trying to join the prestigious Evil League of Evil. His plans, however are ruined no thanks to the egotistical superhero, Captain Hammer. If that isn’t bad enough, Horrible then falls in love with a girl named Penny (Felicia Day). She is saved by Captain Hammer and begins dating him. This causes Horrible to be torn between impressing the Evil League, getting rid of the annoying superhero and getting the girl of his dreams.
Fillion told IGN that production for the sequel could have happened sooner. They had designs on doing it this summer but the director has been very busy. The director of course is none other than the amazing Joss Whedon. With projects like Avengers 2 and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. coming up, it’s no wonder the project has been put on hold!
That hasn’t deterred the stars from wanting a sequel though. Fillion and co-star, Simon Helberg, both have stated that the cast is definitely excited for a sequel!
Great things take time and with the cast not being impatient about rushing into it, it’s sure to be another great hit!
