Whether you’re a country music fan or not, you definitely know of Shania Twain, one of the greatest female recording artists of all time. The Canadian singer was extremely popular on the country and pop charts in the 90s and early 2000s and, since then, has gone on tours, performed in Vegas, and done some television appearances like being a guest judge on American Idol.
Her last album, Up!, came out in 2002, meaning it’s been 15 years, and it’s been seven years since her last single, “Today Is Your Day”, came out in 2010. Needless to say, fans were over the moon when she announced that there is finally going to be more new music this year. Her next album, called Now, will be released September 29 this year, but we don’t have to wait until then to hear some music because she’s already released the first single, called “Life’s About To Get Good”, a fitting name for her comeback track.

She clearly hasn’t forgotten her country roots, as, right from the beginning, you get that fun country vibe that everyone can appreciate, but it’s light and broad enough that even non-country fans can enjoy this. This upbeat, positive song has me tapping my foot with the beat. Her voice is as nice as ever, even after all these years, which is a true testament to her talent. This song is an anthem really, for anyone optimistic about the future.
I’ve been a Shania fan forever so I am thrilled that her first new single is so great and fun, and I can’t wait to hear more from her. If you, too, are a fan of this Country Queen, then I assure you, between the songs and all the press, life is about to get good!
