After returning from what appeared to be an official breakup in the Summer of 2020, postpunk/alt rockers She Wants Revenge have returned… but this time, instead of being a duo of Justin Warfield and Adam Bravin, they’re now a fivepiece (say what?). “It’s the first time we’ve been a fivepiece, and the energy, musicianship, and vibe are really exciting, and I think fans of the band will be very pleased,” said Warfield.
While they don’t have brand new music yet (their last album Valleyheart was released in 2011), they already did a West Coast and UK/Europe tour this Summer and are getting ready for an East Coast/Midwest run of dates starting in November with legendary post-punk band Chameleons as support (you remember this classic banger, right?) which promises to be a killer tour.
Sporting such big splashy hits as “Tears You Apart” (which Ryan Murphy has used to great effect in American Horror Story as did probably tons of other directors who wants a goth-y song to properly fill a dark and foreboding atmosphere) and “These Things” that starred a badass Shirley Manson, She Wants Revenge not only had hits, but they also had celebrity friends (Joaquin Phoenix directed the “Tears You Apart” video) which helped nudge their popularity.
Hopefully now that they’re back, they can start pumping out the hits again… Be sure to catch them on tour to tell them to get off their asses and start recording again!

As a side gig, vocalist Justin Warfield started his own band WARFIELD (clever, innit?) and he’s released one song so far, the infectious earworm “Everything To Me.”
“As soon as I sang it, I knew I was going to release it as my next single,” he said. “It was undeniably hooky, fun, and sonically had characteristics which felt reminiscent of my work in She Wants Revenge, but wasn’t too far removed from my solo material. Really, it’s like the perfect bridge.” Like She Wants Revenge, he promises more music from WARFIELD too. “The freedom of a solo effort allows me to follow the muse wherever it leads with no preconceived ideas, no outside noise, and just pure experimentation. The spirit of it, the summer soundtrack energy, and overall vibe just felt really fun, came out quite naturally, and happened very, very fast.”
