The title of final episode in Season Three of Sherlock has been announced.
The episode which will be written by showrunner Steven Moffat will be called “His Last Vow”. The title is a play on words based on a Conan Doyle short story called “His Last Bow”. The play on words is a theme which runs through the episode names for Season 3. Filming for the season finale is due to start in London in a fortnight. The episode will be directed by Nick Hurran, who directs on Doctor Who.
So know we all know the names of all the Season Three Episodes, and what Sherlock stories the titles are similar to, let the speculation commence on just what might happen.
As a reminder here are the titles (Conan Doyle Titles are in the brackets)
Episode 1 - “The Empty Hearse” (The Empty House)
Episode 2 - “The Sign of Three” (The Sign of Four)
Episode 3 - “His Last Vow” (His Last Bow).
It was announced at SDCC that we can fully expect Season 4 unless it becomes an “enormous flop" according to writer and Mycroft Holmes himself Mark Gatiss.
Season 3 of Sherlock will be returning to BBC and PBS Masterpiece later this year (fingers crossed).
