The days just seem to be getting darker for Mr. LaBeouf… The former Disney Channel star (everyone’s favourite annoying younger brother, Louis Stevens) has recently been in hot water regarding a possible plagiarizing scandal.

LeBeouf has been accused of plagiarizing comic book author, Daniel Clowes’ work. The former Transformers star’s wrote and directed a short film titled, HowardCantour.com, which has many similarities to Clowes work on his 2007 comic Justin M Damiano. Both works are about a film critic, and it appears that LaBeouf’s film uses dialog from Clowes’s original story, without any credit.

Clowes was “shocked” by LaBeouf’s work and has said; “the first I ever heard of the film was this morning when someone sent me a link. I’ve never spoken to or met Mr LaBeouf”

“I’ve never even seen one of his films that I can recall- and I was shocked, to say the least, when I saw that he took the script and even many of the visuals from a very personal story I did six or seven years ago and passed it off as his own work…”

Shia has taken to his personal Twitter account to apologize to Mr. Clowes.

However, it’s gotten worse for Shia. Rumors are circulating that Daniel Clowes is reporting considering legal action against LaBeouf. It now appears that even LaBeouf’s apologies are not his own as they are supposable copied from Yahoo Answers, and recent tweets from celebrities including Tiger Woods, and Kanye West.

Do you think Shia simply got caught up in the creative process and forgot to credit Clowes.. Or are LeBeouf’s apologies part of a larger publicity stunt to raise awareness for his short film?
