There's a new documentary on the way about showrunners and the importance of the profession to television. Titled Showrunners: The Art of Running a TV Show
, it is set to take us behind the scenes of the industry. With its first trailer released
, we get a look at JJ Abrams, Joss Whedon, and Ronald D Moore.
The documentary intends to give a closer look at how essential a showrunner is in the creation of a television show in the United States. Following the whole process, we get a glimpse at writing, producing, filming and moderating to put together a proper show for networks to grab. Moreover, it emphasizes on the work of a showrunner and how it's an ongoing fight to ensure their TV show does end up on air.
Apart from Abrams, Whedon and Moore, the documentary will also feature Damon Lindelof, Bill Prady, Hart Hanson, Jane Espenson and Jonathan Nolan. Those will be part of interviews and commentaries regarding their work.
Lighthouse Cinema in Dublin and Galway's Eye Cinema are the ones to premiere exclusive screenings of Showrunners: The Art of Running a TV Show
