Simon Cowell Scraps ‘Xtra Factor’ Dolphin Scenes After Online Petition

Simon Cowell, in response to complaints about animal rights, cancelled some dolphin scenes from a recent Xtra Factor episode.

Simon Cowell sees The X Factor UK still going on strong, with The Xtra Factor accompanying it each time it airs. Last time the show was on TV, there was a preview for next week’s episode, which included some scenes of swimming with dolphins. That caused an outrage online, with lots of fans signing an online petition for that part to be left out of the episode.

The next episode of The Xtra Factor filmed the final six boys swimming with dolphins, at one of the animals’ shows. Simon Cowell, known for his love of animals, was reached by online petitioners to avoid showing scenes of animal cruelty to a wide audience and affecting the younger generations. The X Factor judge of course made sure the scenes were scrapped and shared a tweet regarding the matter:

Donna Iliffe-Pollard, the one who created the petition, had hope that things would turn out this way. In addition to that, the 7,000 signatures on the petition helped it come to Cowell’s attention. As he stated, he was not aware of the situation and made sure the dolphins scenes were not included in the next episode of The Xtra Factor, as soon as he found out.
