Slumdog Millionaire's Rubina Ali Left In Limbo By UK Director

After three years, Rubina Ali is still waiting for production on her new film Lord Owen’s Lady to start.

The Slumdog Millionaire actress was offered the role by director Martin Pennell in 2010, however Ali’s manager Parkash Satti told Digital Spy “After a long time waiting, we don’t have any information about what is happening with the film and have not heard a single word from the director or anyone else.”

The manager is disappointed in the director for promising the young girl a role. “Mr Martin Pennell should know about how Rubina Ali and her family are living and that their lives have not changed much since Slumdog,” he said. “Mr. Martin Pennell has given her hope so he has to fulfill that.”

Following her role in Slumdog, the actress filmed a soda commercial with Nicole Kidman and had a role in an Indian music video.

There is no word as to whether the project has been cancelled or just pushed back, but Satti urges the director to come forward, “My request to him is that he should come and find out about her living conditions and let her know about the project.”
