Sorry Fans: The *N Sync Reunion Is A One-Time Thing

Did seeing *N Sync briefly perform together again at the 2013 VMA Awards make a younger version of yourself flail? I know the 12-year-old version of myself squealed with joy.

Yet I can’t help but feel a tad relieved to hear that the band isn’t going on tour or getting back together any time soon.

According to JC Chasez it all came about when Timberlake called him and suggested a reunion during the ample time afforded to him during the awards ceremony.

Timberlake reportedly said: “Hey man, listen. I’m getting this award and they have given me a pile of time to perform and we started our careers at MTV and I think we should get the band back together.”

Timberlake also wanted the reunion to be a surprise for the night, however, there’s no such thing as hiding things from the Internet. Before long Twitter was going off and rumours started flying.

Timberlake, Chasez, Joey FatoneChris Kirkpatrick and Lance Bass seemed to fall right back into it like no time had passed between them, according to Chasez.

It showed in the short band performance. It was a glorious 90-second reunion. It was enough to set off every 90s kid around the world. Chasez points out, however, that each member of the band were involved primarily for Timberlake’s sake.

Despite the very short performance killing it with the audience and everyone worldwide, they maintain that no *N Sync tour is directly ahead for any of then.

Never fear! The Internet has a habit of sniffing these things out.
