They appeared to have the picture perfect courtship and marriage. However, over the past few months they have been dogged with rumours that things were no longer so rosy. This morning, E! broke the news that Lord of the Rings actor, Orlando Bloom and his wife of three years, Australian model, Miranda Kerr have split. One of Bloom’s representatives confirmed the split in a statement saying, “In a joint statement, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have announced that they have been amicably separated for the past few months. After six years together, they have recently decided to formalize their separation." It continued, "Despite this being the end of their marriage, they love, support and respect each other as both parents of their son and as family." The pair began dating back in 2007. Following a short engagement, the pair were married in July 2010. They have a son together, Flynn, who will be 3 in January. Bloom is currently on Broadway starring in Romeo and Juliet with Condola Rashad. The play’s opening on September 19 was the couple’s last public appearance together. Speaking in November’s Cosmopolitan, Kerr spoke about Bloom and his performance, offering no hint of any trouble, "When I saw Orlando on Broadway in Romeo and Juliet, I was blown away. For someone to be able to learn all that and hold the energy to do it every day, six days a week—I have so much respect for him. We don't run lines though. We keep that very separate. That would be like me asking him to teach me how to catwalk." The couple were last spotted by paparazzi together on October 8.
