The Comic Book King is at it again. Stan Lee has officially found a home for his myriad of superheroes in the form of Plotagon. Plotagon is a Swedish startup that gives fans anopportunity to create animated shorts starring four brand spanking new characters of Lee's making, backed by his Pow! Entertainment name. “I have had great fun creating all my characters, and have really enjoyed seeing my fans creating their own stories,” Lee explained. “Now, through this collaboration with Plotagon, they can create their own superhero movies.” Plotagon is an interactive creation giving users the ability to create their shorts based upon a provided screenplay, and that centers around six potential settings and five different characters. The finished product can then be transferred to Plogagon's site, other outlets such as YouTube. As of now, the short films look similar to The Sims, but a more realistic visual experience is expected as Plotagon continues developing. It has been said that this is a more high-tech version of fan fiction, in which fans take already established characters and insert them into their own stories. Plotagon's ultimate goal is to cash in on this growing trend and negotiate more deals with developers like the one with Lee. Already they offer purchasing options for Alice in Wonderland and Pride and Prejudice in which gamers can acquire expansion packs. CEO and Founder of Plotagon, Christopher Kingdon, has stated that, “Plotagon has been created around the idea of letting people create their own movies. Stan Lee and Pow! Entertainment have always been very close to their fans. To now be able to announce this collaboration is a perfect match. We are of course also humbled and thrilled to be working with our idol, the legendary creator of all the comicbook characters we love.” Stan Lee's superheroes and setting will be open for business, and ready for purchase, in early November for $9.99. It just so happens that they will roll out during Lee's Comikaze fest in LA. I have a feeling Lee's iconic status will help to bring in plenty of fans with open wallets, ready to see what they can create with a little help from the King himself. [youtube=]
