Twilight author Stephenie Meyer says that she feels sorry for Robert Pattinson.
Meyer spoke about the impact that starring in popular films has had on actors such as Pattinson and The Hunger Games star, Jennifer Lawrence.
Robert Pattinson starred as Edward Cullen in Twilight from 2008 to 2012.
When asked by Access Hollywood if she feels sorry for Pattinson she said, “Oh, all the time!”
The best-selling author, who is now trying her hand at producing, told Access: “I don’t think anybody thought it was going to be like that. It’s gone crazy,” she said. “Hopefully it quiets down for them too.”
She also added that she’s thrilled to say goodbye to the hype and she’s enjoying the calm that comes with the end of the series last year.
Stephenie said that she also feels sorry for Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar winner and star of The Hunger Games, as she is beginning to experience and deal with the same “kind of scrutiny” due to her major role.
“I just saw an article today about Jennifer Lawrence and how she’s kind of having to deal with how crazy it is and it’s starting to really bother her, as down-to-earth and as sweet as she is. Nobody’s meant to live under that kind of scrutiny – it’s just too much. So I feel really bad for her, how the success has kind of ruined the lives of the people in it,” she said. “I think it’s terrible.”
Meyer does not plan on writing anymore in the Twilight verse. In her words, she’s “so over it.”
