The final wave of this summer’s Teen Choice Award nominees has finally surfaced, and it’s huge! This set of nominees has fans choosing their favorite summer movies, shows, and stars.
The superhero flick Man of Steel and the Sandra Bullock/Melissa McCarthy comedy, The Heat, lead in the movie category. Man of Steel is up against Fast & Furious 6, Pacific Rim, White House Down and World War Z for Choice Summer Movie: Action. The Heat is up against The Internship as well as sequels Despicable Me 2, Grown Ups 2 and Monsters University.
In the TV category, ABC Family shows Pretty Little Liars and The Fosters lead the nominations. The two are up against MTV’s Teen Wolf, So You Think You Can Dance and new series Under the Dome. Fans also get to choose their Choice Summer Male and Female TV Star.
When it comes to music, it looks like it’ll be difficult to choose the summer anthem with songs like ”Blurred Lines”, “Cruise (Remix)”, “Get Lucky”, “Treasure” and “We Can’t Stop” all up for Choice Summer Song. A new category has teens choosing their favorite summer tour – nominees include Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake, One Direction and Taylor Swift.
Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale and last year’s Choice Hottie, Ian Somerhalder are scheduled to appear and join other hot young stars including Skylar Astin, Demi Lovato, One Direction and Rebel Wilson.
