It’s a regular thing for Superman to fly long distances in the films and even travel throughout the universe in little time. However, it recently kind of happened in real life as well, as an action figure of the beloved superhero was sent out on a flight to space.
DesignSparks joined forces with Mattel Toys Italy to send a Superman figure on a trip to space and bring it right back. The Man Of Steel toy flew its way to the Stratosphere inside its capsule on Weather Balloon, which ran on Hydrogen gas. The event took place in an effort to recreate the publicly well-known, record-breaking freefall from almost 40km.
The launching took place from one of the company’s workers’ back garden in Ross On Wye, close to Wales in the United Kingdom. The location was ideal, as the area lacks the presence of large cities or busy airways. Thankfully, the weather also helped it all come to life and the Superman figure successfully completed its mission. Give it a look on video below.
