Hey there Supernatural fans! It’s me Susan, your Supernatural recapper back from the pit just like our dear friend Dean! I’ll be covering the recaps once again from here on out, and I promise I’ll do my best not to disappoint the fan base. I do apologize for being a little rusty at this, but it’s been almost a year since I’ve written. That aside, let’s talks about the Supernatural episode “Ask Jeeves.” The episode was a simple one, but it ended with one important moment for Dean and offered some pretty funny moments as well. Poor Sammy! Why is it that Sam is ALWAYS the one who is forced to flirt with old ladies? Why do these older women always flock to Sam like a moth to a flame?

In the beginning of the episode, Dean finds one of Bobby’s old cell phones with a message that he was named in the will of an heiress named Bunny LaCroix, gotta love her name. Who in the world names their child Bunny? The boys decide to hit it up the rich old folks for some money. Never thought the boys would actually be that simple minded, but hey, this is the 10th season we’re into now, so I can’t completely rag on them for thinking that way, especially with all they have done for the world and all.

The boys show up and the mansion is filled with a whole crap load of WASPs, which are Bunny’s extended family and includes several women, who were clearly rejected from the Real Housewives, lusting after poor Sammy. I don’t know what it is with these old women always going for Sam on this show. Has anyone else noticed that the ONLY time Dean ever hooked up with an older woman was with that hunter Annie, the one that Sam also did the nasty with when he had no soul?

A maid in the mansion is killed by Bunny’s ghost and a relative is killed by Bunny’s husband’s ghost. The whole scene makes me flashback to playing the board game Clue with my family. By they way, there ACTUALLY is a a Clue Supernatural board game! In what I can only assume is one of the most clever homages, throughout the entire episode, Sam and Dean pick up a noose, lead pipe, wrench, knife, candlestick and a revolver, the six different weapons that just happen to appear in the board game. Coincidence? I think not!

Sam and Dean begin to investigate, when Sam finds the butler, dead as a damn doornail. But, in some odd twist, Dean is talking to the butler at the exact same time. This changes their original suspect from ghosts to a shape shifter. The boys try to use silver in order to figure out who the shifter is, but it fails. When the cop who has been investigating the murders is also found dead, the family begins to accuse Sam and Dean of the crime, getting their sweet asses locked up.

Maid number 2 turns out to be the killer and shifter. She goes on to explain that she is in fact Bunny’s daughter. Bunny had an affair with a shifter and got pregnant. Bunny also had a one night stand with Bobby, who apparently rocked her world. If you’re like me and you see Bobby like the dad you never had, then this totally makes you want to gag. When Bunny brought her half-shifter daughter home with her, the baby’s dad killed Bunny’s husband and then Bobby arrived in the nick of time and ganked the shifter. Bobby was going to kill the shifter baby as well, but Bunny promised to keep her locked in the attic. When Bunny finally died, her shifter daughter managed to break free of the attic and set the up the entire thing so she could kill Bobby for killing her dad.

This entire long explanation goes on long enough for our boy Dean to get some silver bullets and gank her. And for what seemed like no real reason whatsoever, he continued to shoot her about a dozen more times. That seemed a tad bit excessive to me. Dean is getting a little trigger happy, and we all know what that means.

Sam suspects Dean’s behavior is some demon residue or could somehow be connected to the Mark of Cain. Dean says he was just nervous because it’s his first kill since he came back from being a demon and he just wanted to make sure he did it right. You can tell that Dean’s heart was in the right place, but I can’t help but wonder if we have really seen the last of demon Dean. It doesn’t take a good therapist to realize Dean is not only in a heavy stage of denial, but is also choosing to live his life under a banner of avoidance when it comes to what happened to him and what exactly he became because of the Mark Of Cain. Then, in typical Dean Fashion, in order to avoid any more talking, Dean cranks up the volume on the stereo as the boys drive away, just like old times.
