What We Know About Supernatural Season 10

Check out what we know so far about Supernatural, Season 10! Don’t forget to mark your calendars for Season 11 while you’re at it!

So, as we all know: Dean is a demon. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m wondering what season 10 has in store for us. I cannot wait for October 7, which, as I’m sure you already know, is the premiere of the new season.

And, in case you hadn’t heard, Supernatural was just approved for an eleventh season!

Personally, I hope Sam follows Dean around with a squirt bottle of holy water and sprays Dean every time he does something wrong.

Here’s what we know:

Sam eats crow.

Sam said he wouldn’t go as far to save Dean as Dean did to save him.

This was a lie.

“He was lying to Dean because he was hurt. That was Sam’s way of saying, ‘Buddy, you hurt me, you lied to me, and let me get possessed by an angel.’ So this season, we do see how far Sam’s willing to go, and that he is willing to go outrageously far [to save Dean],” Jared Padalecki said about the season.

Castiel, on the other hand, is taking a slightly more grim path in his adventure to cure/save Dean. “Castiel wants to get the old Dean back, but he’s also determined to get rid of Demon Dean, whatever that takes. If that means there’s no choice but to kill Dean, Castiel is willing to go there,” Misha Collins gave away.

There will be a lot of blood, booze, and babes. As per normal.

Demon Dean, Jensen Ackles revealed, is just like the non-demonic version, only without the soul. Dean is “a lot of physicality, a lot of booze, and a lot of babes.”

It seems that Dean will be lonely with only Crowley to keep him company this season. “It’s really kind of solo flying for Demon Dean, and it’s kind of sad…but it’s also a little scary because of what he’s capable of. Out of three days of filming last week, I was in four fights.”

Demon Dean sings.

I think we all remember that episode when Dean played ‘Eye of the Tiger’ on his leg guitar on top of Baby. There will be more. “The songs that he picks are songs that he knows will piss the crowd off. He doesn’t care, and if they don’t like it, all the more reason to sing it,” Jensen said.

Ladies, calm yourselves.

Castiel is okay with dying.

Castiel’s grace is still fading, and he feels like he’s doomed, according to Collins. “The only solutions he has are to get Metatron’s co-operation, which he’s too prideful to do, or to slit an angel’s throat and steal its grace, and he doesn’t want to kill any more angels. So he’s somewhat resigned to his own epiration.”

We’re getting a musical for the bicentennial.

Yep, you read that right. And we all love the twist on pop culture related topics Supernatural gives us, and this is no different. “It’s very much Supernatural’s own spin and beyond the songs, it’s very much what we consider to be a love letter to the fans.” Jeremy Carver said of the episode.

Characters are returning.

Carver said that several familiar faces will be returning in the new season. He said we will get to meet at least one “character who has been spoken of but never seen over the ten years.” Could it be God?

We get to see more Castiel and Crowley.

They get their own story arcs! Mark Sheppard has been newly promoted to a series regular, and with Collins’ return, we will get to see them on their own for at least some of the new season.

“…ultimately the universe revolves around these two brothers, so those storylihnes will always tie in. There has to be room for Cas and Crowley to go out on their own experiences.”

It’s personal.

Season 10 will be saturated with the theme of character, making it “personal, rather than quest-oriented,” said Carver. “If last year was certain people having to decide who they wanted to be, this season has them saying, ‘I am who I am.’ And that may be a very good or a very bad thing –there’s going to be a certain reckoning that comes from that.”
