It’s about to get bananas over at SyFy.

The sci-fi focused TV channel has just given a pilot order to 12 Monkeys, a new drama series that is based on the 90’s film of the same name that was directed by Terry Gilliam, with big time actors Brad Pitt and Bruce Willis.

The 60-minute pilot is being produced by Universal Cable Prods in partnership with Atlas Entertainment, and is written by Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett.

The recently announced project will follow the journey of a time traveler from the post-apocalyptic future. He finds himself on a modern day mission to find and eradicate the source of a deadly plague that eventually wiped out the entire human race, according to the exclusive reveal from Deadline.

Production is expected to start in November and is being produced by Charles Roven, who recently worked on a trilogy you may have heard of in the past called…The Dark Knight.
