As a quartet whose sound blends EDM, Latin-synths and house, SNZS – Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn – have put a modern-day twist on the classic 90’s girl band. Currently preparing to release a series of 4 EP’s, each one crafted to highlight a season/member, the girls recently dropped their new single “Build a Boy” which was written by the group together with Stefan Litrownik – the man behind hits for the likes of One Direction. Today, PopWrapped are delighted to premiere its live, acoustic video.
Asked about the creation of the song, they say: “When we came together to write Build a Boy, the energy in the studio was a bit different from our usual confident selves. We were all feeling very vulnerable and even a little lonely. Each of us has experienced a relationship that wasn’t fulfilling us mentally, physically and/or spiritually. Build a Boy is our way of saying I deserve more than the bare minimum & I have to do what’s best for me. We realized some people are only in your life for a reason or a season and if you want the perfect partner, you have to find that within yourself first, because you can’t Build A Boy.”
Of this new, acoustic live version, they add that fans: “…will hear a more raw side to SZNS. This song means so much to each of us and since it’s very different from what we are used to, we wanted to get up close and personal with you all. We’ve been waiting for the moment to sing this song live so we could really feel it come to life. With this organic version we were able to truly expose the vulnerability of the song. And with the production completely stripped down to just us and our lovely guitarist Joseph, we got to be in our feels! Being able to jump on some instruments ourselves was pretty cool too. We are so ready to start performing live but this was such a fun start. It’s unlike anything we’ve put out before so we are excited for you to see it.
