Rising star Tayler Buono is “technically single” but “emotionally unavailable” and striving to define a relationship on her smoking new single…

The Orlando based singer songwriter is hot on the scene with the release of her new track “Technically Single.” Last year the siren went viral on YouTube with a gorgeous, piano-driven cover of Justin Bieber’s “Sorry,” and now she’s following up with a #relatable anthem for anyone who’s ever been in an open relationship.

Buono explained to Teen Vogue that her latest release was inspired by a relationship that was best described as complicated. “It’s about being stuck in that gray, awkward stage of being more than friends but not really in a relationship” she said.

Letting our her frustration over a lush, synth-laden production, Buono’s sweet vocals soar on the track. “Sick and tired of pretending / it’s obvious we’re more than friends / I’m not cool with this / if you’re not intending to be together don’t be wasting my heart” she coos across the track. There is a cathartic quality to her delivery, as though Tayler Buono is finally at ease after telling her potential lover how she feels.

Ever the generous pop star, Buono is hitting her fans with a one-two-punch by releasing the “Technically Single” music video immediately following the single release!

The Tumblr-esque visual places Buono in the outer reaches of the galaxy, as she looks down on the world from on high. Astronauts float through the stars, war goes on, and time passes by, but the songstress is stuck waiting for some clarification. Instead of being involved in the happenings she’s stuck in an (admittedly gorgeous) swirling vortex of color.

Tayler Buono may have just released one of our favorite songs of 2016! “Technically Single” is the relatable summer anthem that will define our summer playlists, and should do big things for the rising talent. As we speak, the track is blazing to the top of Spotify’s “New Music Friday” chart, signifying that music listeners across the globe cannot get enough of the hot new talent!
