Recently director James Cameron, the creator of the 'Terminator' franchise, sat down to watch the new film Terminator Genisys.
He said, "I wasn't involved in the making of the film. I didn't direct it. I didn't write it. I’m just a fanboy." He discussed the new film's approach to his creations: "It’s being very respectful of the first two films. Then all of a sudden, it just swerves, and now I'm going on a journey.”
The new film takes us back to the very beginning, with Arnold Schwarzenegger back in charge. The film takes viewers back to where it all began, but then changes it drastically with Arnold coming to protect Sarah Connor as a child. Some fans aren't receptive to the amount of information being shared, but the film impressed James Cameron, and that's high praise.
Cameron calls this film the third in the series. It's been said that this film, like the new Jurassic World film, is in essence erasing two sequels from the running timeline. That makes a lot of sense for the most recent 'Terminator' film, but the third one wasn't that bad.
