The Accidentals Announce National Tour, Upcoming Album

NULL

Indie folk band The Accidentals’ Savannah Buist, Katie Larson, and Michael Dause have been through a whirlwind of activity throughout the last several months. Like wildfire, they’ve played shows from Michigan through to the greater Chicago area, including a stop at the latest widely-anticipated annual Folk the Police show. This doesn’t mark the end of the band’s fortuitous tidings, however. In fact, impending news offers some of the most enthusing set of announcements yet.

First and foremost, The Accidentals have officially been signed onto artist representative company Fleming Artists. This means that they’re a part of the same roster as respectable modern legends in the industry like Ani Difranco and Gregory Alan Isakov, as well as the band’s personal friends, The Ragbirds. With Fleming, The Accidentals will be embarking on their first national tour in eighteen major soon-to-be-announced cities, playing some of the biggest festivals around.

One of these festivals will be South by Southwest (SXSW). SXSW is Austin, Texas’ largest multimedia-oriented festival, as well as one of the largest events of its kind on a national and international scale. The date is TBA, but clicking on this link will take you to The Accidentals’ SXSW event page. Check frequently for updates!

In an exclusive statement for PopWrapped, the band’s own Savannah Buist exemplified she, Larson, and Dause’s excitement for the upcoming tour, and music in general.

To us, music is a science and an art. We’re constantly learning something new about music everywhere we go. We love to surround ourselves with a variety of genres such as rap, gypsy, punk, swing, jazz, progressive rock, and much more. The more musicians we meet and bond with on the road, the more we learn about music. It’s such a collaborative thing, and we have lots to give and take away from it.

They are also officially working with management company MCT, who also supports acts such as Pearl and the Beard, Dar Williams, and highly acclaimed singer-songwriter Marshall Crenshaw. Speaking of Crenshaw, he became a fan of The Accidentals’ work after hearing Bittersweet single “The Silence” and, along with Grammy award-winning producer and engineer, Stewart Lerman, will be working with the band on producing a new EP. They have already recorded a solid 7 songs with Crenshaw and Lerman for their next album.

The Accidentals have also picked up a videographer in Jake Burgess, who has traveled with the band on their recent tour stops to record their performances. This means that you can expect some more videos on the band’s official YouTube channel! For more on Burgess, you can check out his Facebook page here.
