The Brummies Unveil Their Latest Single “Tomorrow”

“..it’s a sad song that we made into a love song.”

Already championed by the likes of Rolling Stone and American Songwriter, The Brummies have been a staple of the music scene since 2018 when they dropped their debut album Eternal Reach, and in the past few years, have worked tirelessly to create music that is meaningful and enjoyable; for both themselves and anyone who hears it.

While the music industry, like much of the world, has all but been ground to a halt as a result of the Corona Virus pandemic, the crisis hasn’t stopped the trio from being creative or looking to the future; they’ll drop their new album Automatic World on November 13th. Prior to the album release though, the Tennessee trio are teasing the collection by sharing their latest single “Tomorrow”, which PopWrapped are delighted to premiere. The song blends soft harmonies with rather melancholy lyrics, resulting in a deep and powerful track inspired and driven by the last moments of a relationship.

Asked about the creative process and evolution to and of the song, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Jacob says: ““Tomorrow” began from a droning note of a broken amp and turned into a soulful song about saying goodbye. I was recording another song and my amp broke and started ringing out this tone. I started singing along to it like I would to the motor on a bass boat when my Pawpaw and I would go fishing in Alabama on Lake Martin. I started this song as a letter to everyone if I found out that I would die the next day..it’s a sad song that we made into a love song.”

Singer and fellow multi-instrumentalist John adds: “This song began with a buzzing signal from a malfunctioning amp that Jacob was using, kind of carrying a drone C note. It was later finished on piano, which allowed some interesting chords to develop.”  Percussionist and background vocalist Trevor also has a strong, emotional connection to the song and says: “I imagine I’m driving with the windows down after a breakup crying my eyes out with this one blasting and then come to the realization that I’ll be ok after all.”
