Just when you thought it was safe to look in the toybox, the doll from hell is back!
Everyone’s favorite demented doll will return to DVD for the first time in nine years.
The Curse of Chucky focuses on a woman named Nica (Fiona Dourif) and how she deals with the return of her domineering elder sister Barb (Danielle Bisutti) and the death of her mother.
Little does she know that her family is about to get an ugly surprise in the form of a familiar redheaded doll, which becomes Nica’s niece’s constant companion and has sinister plans for the family.
Don Mancini, the writer of all six Chucky films, will return as both writer and director of the series. Meanwhile, Brad Dourif will once again voice the horror icon. Chucky still has the same creepy look to him as the film makers have chosen not use CGI.
“It has been a quarter of a century since fans were first petrified by Toyland’s most lethal serial killer in Child’s Play,” said Glenn Ross, the general manager and EVP of Universal 1440 Entertainment, said in a statement to Mashable. “Now, 25 years later, the deadly legacy continues as Chucky resumes his disturbing reign of terror, delivering more of the blood-curdling scares and bone-chilling twists that have cemented his place as one of the world’s most legendary horror film icons.”
Since the trailer’s release on YouTube on Monday, it has accumulated over 547,000 total views and will be released to DVD on October 8.
If you are brave enough, here’s Chucky!!!
