The breakout hit comedy series The Goldbergs centers on a family from the 80’s that is based on that of the series' creator, Adam Goldberg. The sitcom features a narration from the youngest child as a grown up, recounting his family’s odd or unusual tendencies. The Goldbergs has an ensemble cast that includes the parental figures played by actors Wendi McLendon Covey and Jeff Garlin as Beverly and Murray. Veteran actor George Segal also stars in the show as the supportive and sweet grandfather. The series captures many 80’ tropes, fashion, terminology, and pop culture references relevant to its time. One fun aspect of the show is it’s undetermined time frame, noting that it just is throughout the 80’s, giving the show no specific date leaves room open to explore different elements of the era, along with a potential long running series. The Goldbergs Season 1 was released on September 9th through Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and featured a slew of entertaining and in depth bonus material including: -On Set with Jeff Garlin -Our House: The ‘80s Revisited -Blast From The Past: Making Season 1 -Commentaries -Patton Oswalt: Adam Grows Up -Costumes of the ‘80s: The Good the Bad and the Ugly The positively received sitcom is an extreme necessity for comedy lovers, especially those who enjoy the feeling of nostalgia. Make sure to pick up your copy of the first season on DVD and Blu Ray and catch up with the first season before the second season begins September 24th.
