The Killing To Be Revived For Final Season On Netflix

After a tumultuous run, The Killing will finally be put to rest, according to Digital Spy. The drama premiered in 2011 on cable network AMC and ran for two seasons before being cancelled. AMC and Netflix then joined forces, and the show was brought back. A drop in ratings during the third seasons prompted yet another cancellation. This time, the show’s revival comes as a result of Netflix teaming up with Fox Television Studios. Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman will return as Sarah Linden and Stephen Holder, respectively, during the fourth and final season. The plot of the show, a spinoff of the Danish series Forbrydelsen, revolves around the murder of 17-year-old Rosie Larsen and the ensuing police investigation’s emotional and political effects. "It's a true testament to The Killing creator Veena Sud, and the stellar cast led so compellingly by Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman, that fans remained so passionate about the show. We're gratified that our partners at Netflix recognized this,” said David Madden, head of Fox TV Studios, in a statement. "The rich, serialized storytelling in The Killing thrives on Netflix, and we believe that it is only fitting to give Sarah Linden and Stephen Holder a proper send-off," added Cindy Holland, Netflix’s vice-president for original content. All of the fourth season’s six episodes will be available for streaming simultaneously on Netflix. Its premiere date has not yet been announced.
