The new superman film, Man of Steel, appears to have been beaten in the box office by the much hyped PS3 video game, The Last of Us, reports Digital Spy.
That’s quite the feat, considering that video games are more of a niche product than films, which are accessible to more people. Although the actual earnings for The Last of Us have not been released, according to MCV the film made £3 million over the weekend, but “The Last of Us comfortably made more money over that same time period, although Man of Steel's audience was about three times bigger than the game's.”
That’s not the end to the game’s success. The Last of Us made the top spot as the UK’s top selling game back in June 15th and is also one of the most promising new IP’s since LA Noire. Which may not be quite as surprising as you might think, seeing as the game was made by the same developers of the critically acclaimed Uncharted series.
The Last of Us and Man of Steel are now both available for your gaming enjoyment; let us know what you think!
