For all of you Freddie Mercury fans out there fret not, you will be happy to hear that the film based on the singer’s life has a possibility that it might still happen. The film writer Peter Morgan had some disbelief about this movie even happening but he put those rumors to rest.

It has been confirmed that the plans to make this movie is existing despite that it was about to be dismissed after Sasha Baron Cohen decided to not star in it. Sasha was going to portray as the Queen lead singer, but he withdrew from being in the movie in July saying that there were conflicts on the plot line with the still existing band members of the band Brian May and Rodger Taylor. The exit of Cohen cued Morgan to report that the movie might not even happen according to a tweet that BBC sent out last weekend.

As reported by Deadline, Cohen visualized that the movie would be a “tenacious tell-all” but the band wanted it to be more family friendly with the account of the rock star who died of complications connected to AIDS on November 24th, 1991. This biopic has been in talks for years, with Brian May verifying back in 2010 that he has been speaking to Sasha for a while despite he also did indicate at issues that it was difficult to get people on gracefully and individually. The film pinpoints on the years that lead up to the band’s concert at the Live Aid event in 1985. There was complications before the departure of Cohen though as said by Peter that “Brian May and Rodger Taylor did not want to take part in a movie that was just focusing on Freddie.”

”Queen are nervous about the movie and me composing it because it will uncover some of the bitterness and disjuncture in the rock band.”  Cohen’s withdrawal is a big disappointment not only does he look like Freddie but he can also sing. Sasha is known for his comedic work in Borat. If this goes forward who do you think can fill Sasha Barron Cohen’s spot?
