Bringing toe-tapping folk music back to the forefront, The Tall Pines, made up of singer Connie Lynn Petruk and song-writer/guitarist Christmas Davis have, during their time together, always paid more attention to the simplicity of a song rather than overpowering it with heavy instrumentation - it is one of the many things that sets them apart from their fellow artists.

"Fear Is The Devil", taken from their upcoming EP of the same name which is to be released on November 10, which implements a tambourine, maracas, a few simple guitar chords and the use of an alligator skin suitcase as a kick-drum, proves this extremely well. There's a very 1970's feel to the delivery which mixes folk, country and a little bit of soul and yet I can't think of a band who make it work better than these two do.

In a world where we are so often overpowered by all that is around us, The Tall Pines strip things back and bring with them, through their music, a much needed reminder that sometimes, simpler is better - it certainly is here.

Check out "Fear Is The Devil" below and be sure to keep up to date with the band, their music and their upcoming performances via their websiteFacebookTwitterInstagram and Youtube.
