I think I speak for most people when I say there’s still that gaping hole in our hearts after the tragic passing of Glee star, Cory Monteith in July.
It was brought to the media’s attention that Cory Monteith completed work on two films before his untimely death. All The Wrong Reasons and McCannick; were and still are set to premiere at this year’s TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) festival in September.
The film is based on the lives’ of employees at a grocery store, who all have their equal share of problems. Monteith plays a Store Manager who seeks comfort in one of his employees after his marriage is in troubled waters. His wife (who works on the CCTV department – once you’ve seen the trailer you’ll know why that’s included) isolates herself, still trying to cope with the trauma of her sister’s suicide.
The trailer, which premiered on Entertainment Weekly looks to have great promise. I’m sure with a heavy heart; many will flock to see Monteith’s final work. The trailer also answers critics who questioned Monteith’s acting ability; playing a character completely different to that of Finn Hudson from Glee, he shows in this trailer just how much potential he really had.

Being in his home country Canada, I imagine Cory would have attended the premiere at TIFF 2013; not just because it was where he was from, but because it was his first real lead in a film. It gives me great comfort when I read that Monteith expressed how happy and proud he was of his work on the film. So despite the sorrow we may feel and the sadness surrounding the film, just remember he’d want people to watch it and just enjoy the film for what it is.
All The Wrong Reasons is expected to debut at TIFF 2013 on Sunday 8th September.
