The Walking Dead recently came back to AMC with its fifth season and a lot of fans tuned in to catch the show's return. It turns out the hype around it paid off, as the show ended up breaking records once again. The post-apocalyptic drama was named cable television's highest-rated show ever. 17.3 million viewers tuned in for its season premiere, surpassing the previous 17.2 million of Disney's High School Musical 2. Adults from 18 to 49 also seemed to be pretty excited about the fifth season of The Walking Dead, with a surprising 11 mllion tuning in - a 6% rise from last year. The following show, The Talking Dead, received some post-success fame as well, with a total of 6.9 million viewers. Twitter users also had a blast when The Walking Dead returned to AMC. It turns out another record was broken, with a total of 1,320,056 tweets published. The number serves as the highest one for a drama show this year so far. The Walking Dead has already been renewed for a sixth season.
