Fans of The Wanted may have been wondering why the British boyband are yet to release a new studio album since 2011’s ‘Battleground’. Well wonder no longer! Max George has spoken in an interview with Mike and Chelsea on Key103’s Breakfast Show of last year’s “rubbish” effort.
“We cobbled together a third album but because we were away so much we literally had no time” George explained, adding “then the record label wanted it out there because that’s where they make most of their money but we were like, ‘it’s rubbish, we don’t like it’ – we didn’t want to put something out that was just for the sake of putting it out. So after a few arguments, we agreed for the next few months we’d be getting economy flights and all of that sort of stuff so we were cutting back. But that was fine. We are really happy with what we’ve got now”
Expected to be a part of the anticipated third album are singles ‘Chasing The Sun’, ‘I Found You’ and ‘Walks Like Rihanna’. Siva Kaneswaran, who recently signed with Next Models, has also told Digital Spy “I think it’s our best album yet. It’s very personal to us and has hit after hit after hit on it”, calling the upcoming sound “not like cheesy boyband, but pop-rock… sensible pop”.
Sounds like the boys are excited about their third album! Are you looking forward to hearing it? Let us know your thoughts!
