Aneurin Barnard, the star of British television smash hit, The White Queen, has his eyes set on the lead role in one of our favorite television shows… ever; Doctor Who.
After current Doctor, Matt Smith, announced his departure from the show last month there have been floods of speculation and rumors surrounding his replacement. Speaking to Radio Times, Barnard said the role ‘seems like a very good, fun job to be involved in. It’s one of those roles that has lived through time,’ the Welsh actor added. ‘It’s an endless tale and what’s interesting about Doctor Who is it can go in any direction at any point and every Doctor is taken very differently.’
The 26 year old Brit has put in his bid, but will he beat out the other hopefuls and land this coveted role? The 50th Anniversary special for the series is set to hit screens on November 23 and with the race for the next tardis-traveling Time Lord, the anticipation is just too much!
