As we reported, the sequel takes place in Japan where he encounters his ultimate nemesis and engages in a life-and-death battle. With Hugh Jackman back to his mutant best, the trailer shows a very subdued Logan appearing to accept the chance to be mortal again. While the trailer doesn’t make clear whether he follows this through, the foreboding atmosphere, the bleeding wounds and the tagline “when he’s most vulnerable, he’s most dangerous” seems to suggest that he’s going to be tested.
As the tension in the trailer builds, it climaxes by teasing viewers with scenes that you expect will look amazing in 3D – the Bullet train fight scene and leap attack are just two examples. Hopefully the sequel can repair the damage of X-Men Origins: Wolverine which many fans are still trying to forget about.
The blockbuster will open in cinemas in the UK and US on July 26.
