After suffering from a debilitating and infuriating bout of writer’s block, I decided to just take an old column and tweak it to serve for this week’s Thirsty Thursday. Don’t judge me. Or, if you do, keep it to your damn self!

Since Scandal is back tonight, I thought it appropriate to bring this baby back. Because, well, because I wanted to!

Today has officially been dubbed ShondaDay in the PopWrapped world. As far as we’re concerned, Thursdays are a thing of the past; an archaic tradition to be done away with immediately. In honor of the fact that the gloriously brilliant Shonda Rhimes basically owns network television now, today’s Thirsty Thursday is dedicated to the (numerous) beautiful men in the ShondaVerse!

Jesse Williams; Doctor Jackson Avery: This guy, I tell you what. He is the WHOLE package. Smart, sexy, kind, generous, funny, talented and, to top that all off, he’s a feminist! I mean, if you’re on the hunt for the perfect man, look no further. Jesse’s eyes caught my attention in the second Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movie when Alexis Bledel drew him as he posed naked. I was beyond thrilled when he showed up on Grey’s.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan; Denny Duquette: Ugh, I just love this guy. From his short stint as Izzie’s perpetually unhealthy fiance on Grey’s (may he/they rest in peace), to Holly’s rough-and-tumble Irish lover in P.S. I love You; to the gruff and damaged patriarch of the Winchester brothers on Supernatural; there is literally nothing this guy can’t do. And he looks damn fine while he’s doing it.

Justin Chambers; Doctor Alex Karev: Justin Chambers is another guy that got my attention first for his role in a popular rom-com. He played JLo’s Italian childhood friend in The Wedding Planner. He was adorable in that role, but that was all fluff. Chambers’ portrayal of the damaged and hard Doctor Alex Karev allows him to really show off what he can do. Anybody that can make an utterly deplorable character like Karev actually loveable is clearly doing something right. Also, his soft spot is kids; hence why he decided to become a pediatrician. Swoon. I think we all felt our hearts break right along with his when he realized he and Izzie were finally over. Poor Karev, he deserves some happiness!

Scott Foley; Jake Ballard: Shonda really knows how to pull at the nostalgia strings, you know? We all remember Scott from when he starred alongside Kerry Russell on Felicity. But let me tell you, the part of Jake Ballard is nothing like that of Noel Crane. Ballard is fierce, slightly imbalanced and just unimaginably sexy. Last season ended with him and Olivia leaving their Scandalous world behind to live a life in the light. I’m sorry to say they have found themselves back in the darkness.

Henry Ian Cusick; Stephen Finch: My only complaint about Henry Ian Cusick’s character on Scandal is that he was only around for one season. He was one of my favorite characters and one of the main reasons I got pulled in so deep to Scandal in the first place. I’ve loved him since his turn as the mysterious Desmond on Lost, so I was thrilled to see him in another show of such high quality. Stephen, we still miss you and your velvety British accent; and your fleeting moment this season only succeeded in making me miss you more! Seriously though, who else had heart palpitations when they saw him? It was just mean to tease us, Shonda!

Dearest Shonda: Thank you for, not only your brilliance and your ability to continuously create quality and amazing television; but for giving us the opportunity to swoon over these men week-after-week. You, madame, are a national treasure.
