Yep, you heard us correctly! The upcoming Terminator movie will officially be directed by the guy who made Thor: The Dark World… Alan Taylor.
We couldn’t be happier. Taylor also famously directed some classic Game of Thrones episodes, so things are certainly looking up for Terminator fans!
According to Variety, Taylor has Thor to thank for his new gig, as up until screenings of the superhero sequel, Paramount had set their eyes on Life of Pi genius, Ang Lee, even though they had thus far failed to reach an agreement with the guy.
This latest Terminator production will be the brainchild of Paramount, Skydance and Annapurna Pictures, and it will be written by Laeta Kalorgridis and Patrick Lussier, of Avatar and Drive Angry respectfully. It should certainly be different from other films in the franchise.
The blockbuster movie isn’t expected to land in cinemas until 2015, so we may not learn much about it for another few months. We do know that Arnold Schwarzenegger’s appearance in the film has been confirmed, but we don’t know what role he will actually play.
Are you excited about the new film or do you think they should have retired the franchise way back with Terminator 2?
