British actor Matt Wolf has joined E!'s popular television show The Royals as Jeffrey Stuart!  We were very lucky to get a chance to speak with him about that and some other projects looming on the horizon.  Take a look below!

PopWrapped:  So far, what has been your favorite role to play?

Matt Wolf:  Actors get asked that often and it’s not an easy thing to answer, as the roles are always difficult to compare. Every role I’ve done has been interesting to play in its own way. I particularly enjoy playing characters that are damaged in some way, so definitely Jeffrey Stuart in The Royals fits into that. I played the Dutch philosopher Spinoza in a play a few years ago, which I guess is among my favorite times.

PW:  Tell us a bit about your character on The Royals?

MW:  Jeffrey Stuart is one of those characters that people love to hate, in that he’s essentially a villain in the show, and slightly mad. Audiences always love to see what characters like that will do next. He’s trying to bring down ‘the House’, but he has perhaps a justifiable motive. A good guy really, but twisted by years of plotting revenge.

PW:  Is there a role you'd love to play? It could be a specific character or something you have in mind that would be fun.

MW:  I must say that I always enjoy doing period pieces. That and darker characters. So I suppose I’d have to say a dark character on Game of Thrones would be a lot of fun! Maybe in the next season…!! I have something hopefully happening on Amazon that is somewhat in that vein, so fingers crossed!

PW:  What would you do if you weren't an actor? Would you pursue law with your degree?

MW:  I somehow can’t imagine not being an actor, but I don’t think it would be law anyway, it would be something more creative. Probably an interior designer, which is something I enjoy. I’m addicted to TV home decorating and real estate shows! When I was very young, my mother said I should be an architect when I grew up. Oblivious to the fact that of course I’d have to study it, I remember telling her that I could never be an architect as I

wouldn’t know where to put the toilets! True story.

PW:  Besides The Royals, is there anywhere else we can expect to see you in 2016?

MW:  The Royals has another season which starts filming in June, and I’m waiting to hear if Jeffrey Stuart will be back for more. There are a couple of other TV shows bubbling, something possibly for Amazon as I mentioned and another TV thing. I’m about to start a radio adaptation of Shakespeare’s As You Like It with the amazing Stacy Keach and James Marsters. And I’ve just completed work on a game for 2K Entertainment that I think is going to be huge with the fans. I play an Irish character, but

I can’t say more than that.
