Time Life Honor Prince’s Legacy With Limited Edition Purple Vinyl

Time Life prepare to honor the legacy of music legend Prince with the release of a Purple Vinyl Edition of ‘Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Live: Volume 1.’

Time Life is prepared to honor the legacy of Rock & Roll legend Prince and other memorable performers with the release of the Purple Vinyl Edition of their Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Live: Volume 1.

The world is still reeling from the untimely loss of musical great Prince. The artist responsible for hits including “When Doves Cry” and “Purple Rain” passed away suddenly this April, leaving a hole in music that may never be filled. To honor the legend Time Life has teamed up with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame to unleash a special tribute…

This month they are preparing to release a limited edition Purple Vinyl of their Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Live: Volume 1. The two-sided vinyl contains ten of the most beloved live performances from Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremonies, including Prince’s 2004 induction performance of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.” After the original pressing of the album sold out following it’s April 28 release, the idea for the Purple Vinyl came into play.

Jeff Peisch, SVP of New Product Development and Marketing at Time Life commented on the decision to rebrand the release in honor of Prince. “We recognized that we needed to do something truly special to commemorate his incredible legacy” he explained. “When the first run of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Live sold out immediately, the opportunity presented itself to do a purple vinyl pressing that perfectly captures the ‘Purple One,’ and is sure to resonate with those who loved his music and style.”

The limited edition album will give fans of the iconic artist a fantastic  way to commemorate one of his most memorable live moments, the three minute guitar solo during “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” from his 2004 induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The performance, delivered alongside Tom Petty, Jeff Lynn, Steve Winwood, and Dhani Harrison, went viral in the days following his untimely death and remains one of his most critically acclaimed moments.
