Time to check in to Hotel de Lady Gaga. Mere hours before Mother Monster made her acting debut on American Horror Story YouTuber Todrick Hall honored the musician's legacy by performing a career retrospective on his popular YouTube channel. Simply titled "4 Gaga" Todrick Hall honored the iconic performer and her impressive discography.
With the screen split in four, Todrick Hall harmonized with himself while performing some of Lady Gaga's defining hits. "Applause" seamlessly blends into "Just Dance," as the damning intro to "Judas" fill the dead air between with something a little more dangerous. Gaga's other hits and a few more memorable album cuts all fit in the impressive five plus minute megamix.
No ode to Lady Gaga would ever be complete without epic costumes, staging, and choreography, and Todrick Hall pulled out all of the above in his theatrical tribute. Possibly in reference to Gaga's tenure on American Horror Story Hall dressed himself as a bellhop on one screen and as a front desk manager as another.
We're sensing an homage to "Telephone" in another screen, and the final sees Todrick Hall donning a bright yellow wig paired with a gleaming emerald gown and a single red elbow length glove. Is this a reference to Gaga lobster-esque look at the Oscars or possibly another reference to the blood and gore of AHS, we may never know! Either way, the looks serve Lady Gaga's fierce and unique sense of style.
"4 Gaga" kicks off with the eerie ringing of a bell before Todrick Hall's characters spring to life, dancing and interacting across the screens. Props and organized choreography bring the performance to life in a way you wouldn't expect! Don't believe me? Check it out below!
Sorry I cannot hear you, I'm kind of busy (name that Lady Gaga reference) listening to Todrick Hall's "4 Gaga." Work it out Todrick, because this is amazing!
In the past three weeks Todrick Hall has released three of these remixes including equally impressive tributes to Taylor Swift and Rihanna. Each of the videos perfectly captures the musician's brand perfectly. Whether Hall is channeling Swift's unique brand of innocent fun, Rihanna's frank badassery, or Lady Gaga's unabashed theatricality the content creator commits wholeheartedly!
What do you think of Todrick Hall's tribute to Lady Gaga? Are you a fan of his innovative career retrospectives? If he is making a habit of these videos what other pop stars would you like to see Todrick Hall tackle in future releases? Let us know!
