Looks like Tom Hanks is set to reprise his role as Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon! Sony Pictures has closed the deal with the two time Oscar-winner to star in Inferno, the third book-to-film adaptation of Dan Brown's best-selling series centering around Langdon. Ron Howard is set to direct and produce, Brian Grazer is to co-produce with him, and the script will be written by David Koepp. Inferno will follow the story of Langdon as he awakens in a hospital in Italy. The catch is that he is suffering from amnesia, and within his lost memories are the keys to stopping a madman from releasing a global plague. He teams up with Dr. Sienna Brooks, who tries to help him remember as they piece together clues from Dante's Inferno, which in some mysterious way is connected with the upcoming catastrophe. The film is set to start filming on location in Italy in April of next year.
