Take it only as a rumor for now, but Tom Hiddleston may be putting his long, lean, athletic physique and penchant for flawless accents to excellent use in a forthcoming biopic about famous Greek marathon runner Stelios Kyriakides.
The Tracking Board reports that the multi-dimensional actor has been attached to the lead role in the film, entitled Kyriakides.
The Disney co-produced movie will recount the true story of the renowned athlete’s struggles during the Nazi occupation of Greece during World War II and his subsequent triumphant win of the Boston Marathon in 1946.
An avid runner himself, the role seems like a perfect match for Hiddleston, but with the current busy schedule of the much-in-demand actor, we’ll have to wait and see if it actually is Tom crossing the finish line once production begins.
Hiddleston just wrapped filming on the Guillermo del Toro directed Gothic Horror film Crimson Peak, and will begin work on Ben Wheatley’s High Rise in July.
