Pretty new outtakes of Tom Hiddleston’s promotional shoot for the West End production of Coriolanus has been released.
The popularity of the British actor has drastically increased due to his involvement in Thor and The Avengers. Are there any questions why? The actor, who will reprise his role of Loki in Thor 2: The Dark World, has turned his attention to the stage to star in the lesser known Shakespeare play directed by Josie Rourke.
Hiddleston is shirtless and undeniably sexy in the promotional pictures. Dare to look, and risk getting lost in his eyes. He just adds to my theory that all British men have impeccable cheekbones.
All swooning aside, you can see the performance in the way Hiddleston poses for the pictures, slipping right into character. In the outtakes he is noticeably crying, peering, glaring, and conveying intense emotion.
Hiddleston will assume the leading role in Coriolanus, which will run from December 6 to February 8 at Donmar Warehouse reports BroadwayWorld. Tickets, which went on sale yesterday, are reportedly already sold out.
The Donmar Warehouse summarizes the play as follows:
"When an old adversary threatens Rome, the city calls once more on her hero and defender: Coriolanus. But he has enemies at home too. Famine threatens the city, the citizens’ hunger swells to an appetite for change, and on returning from the field Coriolanus must confront the march of realpolitik and the voice of an angry people."
Coriolanus is set to be filmed and broadcasted live for National Theatre Live on January 30, 2014.
