Tom Hiddleston Steals The Spotlight At Wimbledon

Many eyes at Wimbledon went from going back and forth on the court to going up and down in the stands as Tom Hiddleston folded his long and lean body into the bleachers to enjoy the matches on July 8.

The genetically gifted actor was on break between wrapping up filming on the BBC series The Night Manager and heading off to Comic-Con this Saturday to promote his forthcoming movie Crimson Peak.

As soon as photos of Tom at the event broke on the web, fans on social media went crazy sharing the gorgeousness.

Sporting a blue Ralph Lauren Purple Label suit with a pinstriped shirt, the Avengers star was dripping with understated elegance.

Functional and fashionable accessories including a straw fedora and glasses added to the actor’s stylishness and made Hiddlestoners worldwide swoon.

Despite making a point to look so put-together, the actor wasn’t there to be seen. Hiddleston is actually an avid tennis fan. “I love watching tennis, I get obsessed by it, I don’t know why,” he told VH1 back in 2012. “I think I find it so dramatic because at a certain level, it doesn’t matter how good you are and how much training you’ve done, it’s like up here [in your head] and in [your heart]. So when you see people like Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal and [Novak] Djokovic go at it, it’s just like a battle of wits and heart.”

He also has a particular nostalgia for Wimbledon. He once told Elle UK:

“The architecture of my life is that Wimbledon always used to be the herald of the summer, because it was the end of exams and the beginning of the school holidays, and therefore the beginning of fun.”

I hope Tom did indeed have fun at this year’s Wimbledon. As a hard-working performer and overall stellar human being, he more than deserves it.
