The first full trailer for Amy, the upcoming documentary from Asif Kapadia’s about the late Amy Winehouse, has been released.
In one chilling scene, we see a smiling Winhouse saying, “The more people see of me, the more they’ll realize that all I’m good for is making music.”
The controversial documentary premiered at Cannes, and the Winehouse family has chosen to “disassociate” from the film.
The trailer shows archival footage of Winehouse, and most of it shows a Jekyll and Hyde side of her. In some scenes, for instance, Winehouse is laughing and smiling in interviews, but in others, shows the dark side of Winehouse, including the singer drinking.
The film will be on limited release on July 3, then will expand across the country on July 10th. In the meantime, you can check out the trailer, below:
