President Donald Trump does not believe those who say he is mentally unfit to hold the highest office in the country. In fact, he says that his track record shows that he is “a very stable genius.”

Michael Wolff was given “unusually wide access” to President Trump and the White House during the first presidential year. This allowed him to paint a complete picture of the man within the Oval Office. Unfortunately for the president, this complete picture is not so flattering. According to ABC, Wolff found Trump “an inept, sexist, narcissistic man leading a dysfunctional administration.”

“Actually, throughout my life, my two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart,” Mr Trump tweeted in response.

In that same series of tweets, the president claimed his Democratic critics and other members of the United States media were just looking for other ways to bring him down, resorting to the “old Ronald Reagan playbook” among other things.

“I went from VERY successful businessman, to top T.V. Star … to President of the United States (on my first try). I think that would qualify as not smart, but genius…. and a very stable genius at that!”

At the presidential retreat in Camp David, Maryland, Trump called Wolff’s book, Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, “a disgrace” and “a complete work of fiction,” and called the man himself a “fraud.”

Trump went on to blame Wolff’s complete access on “Sloppy Steve” Bannon.

“I went to the best college … I was a very excellent student, came out, made billions and billions of dollars, became one of the top business people, went to television and for 10 years was a tremendous success — as you probably have heard — ran for President one time and won,” he said. “And then I hear of this guy that does not know me, doesn’t know me at all — by the way, did not interview me — he said he interviewed me for three hours in the White House. It didn’t exist, OK. His imagination.”

President Trump remains adament that the book is untrue, while White House officials are working to raie doubts about the publication with the help of Trump’s high-profile supporters.

President Trump will receive his first physical exam in office on January 12, 2018.
