Tyler Perry has finally confirmed the big, big news: He and his girlfriend, model Gelila Bekele, are expecting their very first child together. The intensely private star was able to keep the secret for many months, as it has been confirmed Bekele is already seven whole months along. Her expected due date is around the end of the year. So much excitement!
“They are overjoyed and really, really happy,” a source tells Us Weekly of the mood of Tyler Perry and his model girlfriend. “He was so happy in the moment so he told the guests,” the insider says of the private star, who broke the news in front of 100 family members and close friends, including Jennifer Holliday, Tevin Campbell, Monica, Jazmine Sullivan, and LeAnn Rimes at his 45th birthday party in Atlanta. A celebration-worthy occasion indeed!
Perry himself is best known for his work in his famed Madea franchise, and most recently, as the creator of several shows for Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network, most notably including “For Better or Worse” and “The Haves and the Have Nots.”
