Sci-fi drama Under The Dome has been cancelled, CBS has announced.
The show, which is based on the best-selling novel by Stephen King, focuses on the small town of Chester’s Mill that is suddenly cut off from the rest of the world by a large transparent dome. The current third season has seen the Emmy-winning Marg Helgenberger join the cast, as the town’s residents have discovered more about the Dome and what it wants from them.
Nina Tassler, chair of CBS Entertainment, said, "We’re excited to present the final chapter in Chester’s Mill as the story comes full circle, with the dome coming down as dramatically as it went up."
Variety has reported that the finale will answer questions regarding the Dome’s power and origins, and there will be one final conflict between two groups of inhabitants in which not all will survive.
The final episode, "The Enemy Within," airs on CBS on Thursday, September 10 at 10 pm ET/PT.
